What's in the template
This packing slip log records one row per SKU shipped: shipment ID, ship date, order number, customer, ship-to address, SKU, product name, quantity shipped, unit of measure, carrier, and tracking number.
Because it's one row per SKU rather than one row per shipment, a single box containing four different products becomes four rows sharing the same Shipment_ID — filter by Shipment_ID to see the whole contents of one shipment, or by Order_Number to see everything tied to one customer order.
Columns explained
| Shipment_ID | Unique per physical shipment, shared across every SKU inside it. |
| Order_Number | The sales order this shipment fulfills, if applicable. |
| Ship_To_Address | Delivery destination for this shipment. |
| Quantity_Shipped | How many units of this SKU are in this shipment. |
| Carrier | Who is delivering it — UPS, DHL, freight, or hand delivery. |
| Tracking_Number | Leave blank where no carrier tracking exists. |
Where a spreadsheet packing slip breaks down
This log does not deduct shipped quantity from stock on hand — recording a shipment here and updating your inventory list are two separate manual steps unless the two are linked by software, which is the same double-entry gap that shows up in receiving and stock counts.
It also has no built-in link to a specific pick list or the order that generated it beyond a matching Order_Number typed consistently across sheets, so a typo silently breaks the connection between what was picked and what the packing slip says shipped.
