What the Shopify connector does

StockFlow is built for the warehouse side of the business—scanning, receiving, multi-location stock, and cycle counts. Shopify remains your storefront and order system. The connector keeps those roles separate: ops and warehouse truth in StockFlow, storefront and checkout in Shopify.

StockFlow runs as an embedded app inside your Shopify admin, so you connect and manage the sync without leaving Shopify. Version 1 focuses on the inventory job that matters most for a warehouse-driven store: bring Shopify items into StockFlow, then keep on-hand quantities aligned in both directions.

  • Install and authorize from inside the Shopify admin (embedded app, OAuth)
  • Map a Shopify location to a StockFlow branch
  • Sync catalog: create or match StockFlow products to Shopify items by SKU
  • Two-way inventory: Pull from Shopify, Push to Shopify, or Sync now

How to connect

From the Shopify App Store (or a direct install link), install StockFlow into your store. You will land inside the StockFlow app embedded in your Shopify admin, where you connect the integration and pick which Shopify location maps to which StockFlow branch.

Run Sync catalog first to create or match products by SKU. Use Pull from Shopify to seed on-hand counts from your storefront, then Push to Shopify after a warehouse count or receiving. Sync now pulls Shopify changes first, then pushes StockFlow changes; if both sides changed the same SKU since the last sync, StockFlow keeps its quantity and the conflict is logged rather than silently overwritten.

What is not in v1

Order import, customer sync, and creating new items in Shopify from StockFlow are not part of this release. Sync is manual (Pull / Push / Sync now) rather than real-time — Shopify sends StockFlow only the mandatory GDPR and app-uninstall webhooks today, not live inventory-change events, so a sale in Shopify does not instantly update StockFlow until you run a sync.

Connect Shopify from your dashboard

Install StockFlow from the Shopify admin, map a location to a branch, sync catalog, and keep storefront and warehouse counts aligned.

Frequently asked questions

Does StockFlow replace Shopify inventory management?
No. Shopify remains your storefront and order system. StockFlow adds warehouse-side operations—barcode receiving, cycle counts, and multi-location tracking—and keeps mapped stock levels aligned with Shopify through manual sync.
Is the Shopify sync real-time?
Not yet. Quantities update when you run Pull, Push, or Sync now, not automatically the instant a sale or stock change happens on either side. Real-time webhook-driven sync is on the roadmap but not available today.
Which side wins if a count disagrees between StockFlow and Shopify?
After the initial pull seed, StockFlow is treated as the source of truth. Sync now still pulls Shopify changes first, but if both sides changed the same item since the last sync, the StockFlow quantity is kept and the conflict is recorded so you can review it.
Do I need to be a Shopify Partner or have API access to connect my store?
No. You install StockFlow like any other Shopify app and authorize it from your own store admin. StockFlow holds the OAuth application credentials server-side — no separate API setup is required on your end.
