Most third-party logistics providers bill each client in two parts. Storage covers the space the client's stock occupies, usually per pallet position or per bin or shelf per month. Handling covers the work: receiving inbound goods, picking and packing orders, and extra units picked beyond the first item in an order.
Enter one client's figures for a month. Use the average number of pallet positions and bins they occupied (or the count on your billing date, if that is how your contract measures it), the receipts you processed, the orders you shipped, and the extra units picked. Rates are in your own currency.
If you do not bill some of these lines, set the rate to 0. The calculator shows the total invoice, the split between storage and handling, and the effective handling cost per order.

How the calculation works
Storage = pallet positions × pallet rate + bin locations × bin rate. Handling = receipts × receiving fee + orders × pick and pack fee + extra units × per-unit fee. Invoice = storage + handling.
Example with the default values: storage is 20 × 18 + 40 × 4 = 520. Handling is 12 × 25 + 900 × 2.50 + 600 × 0.40 = 2,790. The monthly invoice is 3,310, and handling works out to 3.10 per order.
The rates in the example are placeholders, not market prices. Rates vary widely by region, product size and service level, so start from your own cost per pallet position and per labor hour.
