QR code or barcode?
Use a linear barcode (Code 128) for simple SKU-based inventory scanning — it's the universal standard for warehouse and retail scanning and reads slightly faster with a dedicated scanner. Use a QR code when you want to encode more than a short code, such as a full URL to a product page, asset detail page, or spec sheet, or when scanning primarily with a phone camera.
